Hi everyone,
Well I got 2 quotes & my blinds should be installed in a few weeks! Hoping before Xmas. Both quotes were within budget!
We end up going with a company called blinds kingdom.

We chose holland (roller blinds) for the whole house. We end up picking the colour pumice (matches the carpet) & on 6 windows we got the dual blinds with the back blind being a bronze chocolate colour to match the jasper window frames!

Update on fencing: finally found a fencer! They will be going up early jan ;-) can't wait!

Driveway

Hi everyone,
Been a while since I last posted!
Finally today we got our driveway done. My god it costs alot just for concrete! Now hopefully start landscaping the front within the next few wks!

Fencing has been painful. People not showing up, especially after calling 8 of them! They say they are coming, they just don't seem to want to do a fence on that retaining wall! Arghhhh

In terms of the house only major issues are 3 things: leak into front door! No weather strip on bottom of door & a crack in the right hand corner front pane which the wood has now warped after heavy rains. And 3 leaks in garage!
One plumbing issue!! Water pressure upstairs is very weak! Plumber & PD construction manager coming by on Monday! A few other tiny things but they can wait until 3 month maintenance!

Curtains - hopefully will be happening soon! Getting quotes ATM!!

In terms of the house we are loving it :-) I'm even loving cleaning it! That won't last long lol!

Hi everyone,
We moved in on wednesday, unpacking all day Thursday & still a few boxes to unpack!
Am pretty happy :-)
A few hiccups! Telstra man came yesterday & apparently the hub in garage is working but not the points in house!!! So hopefully they come out pretty quickly. Foxtel is coming Monday so will be interesting to see if they can hook it up!!
Phone on, appliances installed on Thursday, PD forgot to organise my ducted vac installation, so that will be Monday wk.
A few hiccups, but we are pretty ecstatic & love the house.

Handover tomorrow!

Hi everyone,
So handover is booked for tomorrow at 2.00pm. What a stressful time it is organizing the bank valuation and making sure the cheque will be ready tomorrow!!!
On my way home I brought a bottle of Moët to celebrate tomorrow when we get the keys.
It's chilling in the fridge ATM! Lol

Went past house tonight & my floating floors have been installed ;-) taken thru window!

Nearly at PCI!!

Hi everyone,

Well it's looking like our house will hopefully be ready for PCI at the end of Oct or maybe even be earlier than I thought! According to contract our house is meant to be handed over by the end of Oct. All is going to plan!

Yesterday I spoke to my wonderful SS who I will no longer be dealing with :-( He has been absolutely wonderful & feel very lucky that most of our build has gone very smoothly. No real big issues with house only prior with site!! Thanks SS, can't mention name due to legal reasons. But I know he is still Supervising houses in the north area! Hold onto him PD.

Our house has now been given to a construction manager prior to settlement! My husband will be meeting him Monday morning to go thru house & set an actual PCI date. I'm speculating that we will most likely move in mid nov! I have also organized for a final independent inspection for next Friday morning!

On a happy note when I drove by last night I saw that our carpet has started to be laid! And tonight i could see thru the master bedroom that my shelving/ robes had been fitted! Site has been cleaned around the house too :-)

Left to be done:
- portico render to be painted, garage plaster roof to be painted & above garage door.
- electrical fit offs
- floating timber floor to most of downstairs
- mirrors & basins in bathrooms & powder rm? Can't see upstairs! Same with toilets?
- kitchen handles changed to correct ones chosen.
- paint touch ups.
- door fittings - handles

Hi everyone,
Went & did my weekend drop by the house & noticed my garage door was on, all heating & cooling vents are fitted & ducted vac points. Couldn't get in though was locked out!

Hi everyone,
Well tiling progress is happening :-)
I did notice one mistake! My bathroom feature tiles are meant to go right across! This will need to be fixed! As I upgraded the mirror to go all the way across, so it will look silly if not changed!

Kitchen handles still have not been changed, this will hopefully happen soon! in discussion with PD about this ATM!

Very happy with how it is all looking though, tiler has done a great job! My red splashback has been installed too :-) See pics below!

Hi everyone,
Met my SS this afternoon for a quick visit.
Very pleased with how the house is looking.
Actually really happy!
My front doors have been painted, both showers & balcony had been waterproofed
;-) Tiling is the next thing to happen!
